Saturday, September 27, 2008Due to something that suddenly happened at home, it occurred to me that motherhood is a permanent job. And a really tough one at that. It's not as if you get to chuck your kids out when they turn 18/21(I have an older brother to prove that) and live your own life away from theirs (no, in fact they'll probably live with you and semi sponge off you till they get married and move out). And being a parent involves lots of patience and tolerance and money. =/ 人家说谈钱伤感情，and as a parent you're expected to dole out money and love without asking for anything return, it's expected of you. =/ And as a rational person, sometimes you know they really shouldn't have done that and you give well meaning advice and they don't take it and screw up in the end. But when your kids end up with crummy lives and you know it's not their fault, you can't not help them can you? =S Bleh. Complicated adult lives, and I'm moving closer toward it every day. =/ I <3s my family very muchly anyway. ^^ |
