There is no universally agreed upon plural of "platypus" in the English language. Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus". Colloquially, "platypi" is also used for the plural, although this is pseudo-Latin;[3] the Greek plural would be "platypodes". (from wikipedia)

Because I was wondering about that in Melbourne.

And hence, there is also.

There are three forms of the plural of octopus; namely, octopuses, octopi, and octopodes. Currently, octopuses is the most common form in the UK as well as the US; octopodes is rare, and octopi is often objected to.[18] (also from wikipedia)

And this reminds me about the disturbing story I read on the information displayed outside the platypus enclosure(?)/tank(?) of the legend of how the platypus came about. Apparently a water rat felt it was his time to 成家立业/was feeling this great need for marital companionship and wooed/pursued/abducted this duck back to his water rat... hole?nest? where needless to say some things happened, either willingly/unwillingly, though the duck(ette) managed to escape back to her own nest where she laid eggs! Then platypus/platypuses/platypi/platypode emerged. Disturbing isn't it.

I also have a korean food craving after melbourne. Not because I didn't get to eat it there, but rather because I did. =/

Also, I realise my emotions are easily read, aka my feelings are basically written splat all over my face. But having someone tell them to you is mildly freaky. My bf knows me waaay too well. XP
