Hello everyone! I'm finally back from Hong Kong.. Sorry about ignoring messages and not being able to reply, but messaging from overseas 应该蛮贵的吧... Anyway don't think I'll ramble on and on about my trip so have fun staring at all the photos instead! =) There are about 50+ photos to load, so be patient.. =) Basically the weather there was quite nice (while I was there anyway) ranging about 14 to 19 degrees and it wasn't very cold except when the wind was strong and the sun wasn't out. I even managed to get a tan there, I'm slightly more brown than when I left, but I have lots more pimples too.. Generally lots of things in HK require queuing up and walking around. Since I was staying at my cousin's friend's grandma's house while I was there, and she lived halfway up this hill, every time we walked back to the house, we'd be climbing this slope of about more than 45degrees? The 跑马地 area is also full of slopes so I did lots of walking while I was there.. Although I think the overeating helped compensate for it.. =X Kk, less talk and more pictures then.. =)

28/12/2006-Day1

This was the first day I went to the neighbourhood and came across this very cute pet shop! X) Actually around the 跑马地 area there are lots of people with lots of very cute dogs! Think it's a richer part of town or something, cos the people there all drive branded cars and all too..

This is a picture of the tram and taxi. Didn't manage to take the 小巴 though...

Another picture of the streets of Hong Kong.

This was my first meal in Hong Kong, french toast with 奶茶! X) Saw a 明星 there, whose name I cannot remember but looks extremely familiar. One of the not bad looking ones.. He would be one of the 2 明星s I saw on this trip..

Hong Kong buildings are really tall and have interesting shapes and designs.. Think this is a financial centre if I'm not wrong.

After lunch and walking around we decided to go to Ocean Park! This is a picture of my cousin and I on the really long escalator.. It was so long that we had time to do 十连拍 while waiting to get to the top. And she was also the poor person I dragged along with me to take all the rides. =)

This is a picture of 海洋公园 and it's rides.. Actually I took a video of the Ocean Park animal show, but it's quite small and low quality... Must kope photos from other people. Didn't manage to go see the pandas though..

This is the first ride I took, the roller coaster! Wasn't very exciting though, but the wind was very 爽.. X)

This is the second ride I took, the viking ship... Unfortunately there was no place at the sides so we sat somewhere close to the middle.. =(

This is the 20 plus storey free fall, the first fall was quite scary actually.. The anticipation made it quite exciting.. My feet were literally flying parallel to the floor? 很好玩... =)

And of course, very cute 公仔s! X)

Then we were treated by Yinshan's family to a 火锅 dinner at Club Dynasty at the Grand Hyatt hotel... It's quite cool cos everyone had their own pot then we got to mix our own 酱 and all.. =)

And this is my pot after I filled it with lots of stuff, cos yinshan was complaining that my pot always looked too empty.. Anyway the vegetables there seem to taste nicer, more sweet or something. Apparently it's supposed to be because the vegetables are winter vegetables so they taste better? 不知道,反正好吃就是了。

29/12/2006-Day2

This is the top deck of the tram that we took on the second day... The seats are the plastic sort that we used to sit on in school..

The tram is non air-conditioned so there are nice big windows for you to stick your head out of. But of course you shouldn't do that unless you want whichever part you stick out to be whacked off by another tram passing by..

This was on the way to The Peak, a picture I took while on the tram cos I was quite bored.

This is the tram that took us directly to the top of The Peak, instead of us having to climb up numerous stairs and all.

View of HK from The Peak, think the pollution is quite bad since everything looks quite grey.. =X

Another picture taken from 山顶..

Yet another picture of me, bernice and my cousin. Bernice being Brenda's younger sister and my age. Brenda being my cousin's older sister (aka my other cousin)'s friend, also yinshan's friend and our babysitter till my older cousin came. =)

My cousin and Brenda at Bubba Gump's at 山顶 having a very sumptuous lunch. =)

This was the oven baked seafood rice amongst other things that people ordered..

After finally buying the 八达通卡 I took my first MTR ride to get to 旺角 or Mongkok.

This is inside the MTR and they have lots of cute flashing buttons to tell you where you are and which door to exit from. Think they have more than 4 different train lines too..

A very cute shop I saw, the Apple Shop! =)

艺术照 of people walking around..

香港夜景... I think the lights are very pretty.. Looks quite happening too right? =)

This is one of the Aston Martins we saw in the showroom near the place where I stayed.. (told you it's quite a wealthy district)

30/12/2006-Day3

This was the yumcha breakfast we had at one of the restaurants. The 点心 was yummy, the 虾饺 was good and their porridge is very different from ours. It's more porridgey and less rice like I guess, and I discovered a new 点心 I like.. Hopefully they have 咸水饺 here too that tastes just as good. =)

And this is the 桂花糕 and 杨枝甘露 that we had after all the 点心.. The 桂花糕 is very fragrant and tastes quite refreshing, while the mango and pomelo inside the 杨枝甘露 are very sweet... Perfect for sweet tooths like me. =)

Oh! This was the fascinating toilet at the yumcha restaurant. It had a sensor activated toilet seat cover changer as well as sensor activated flushes, sinks, soap dispensers and paper dispensers.. Best of all, they had a fish tank inside the toilet! (see below picture)

See! X)

This is the 黄大仙庙 we visited after breakfast...

And this is the 烧腊 lunch we had at Yong Kee at 兰桂坊,which included things like 烧鹅,皮蛋,烧腊拼盘 etc..

These are the decorations at 兰桂坊,要迎接新年了!

This was a street we discovered while walking around 兰桂坊,and the steps were quite uneven and hard to walk..

This was the busy street that sold many weird things like Halloween costumes and all sorts of accessories. Quite busy true I think..

This was after lunch where we went to 元朗 after taking a very long bus ride.. It's a more countryside part with old buildings and a slower pace...

Door!

艺术照 I guess, actually I was trying to take the bird on the tree.. =X

I took this too! Looks quite nice right? I'm quite proud of this picture... Another 艺术照 =)

Oh yar, they have very cute kids there, with rosy cheeks and all.. X) This was one of the cute kids we saw at the playground outside 围城.

This was another little kid.. =)

This is a street inside 围城.. It's quite narrow actually and crowded with houses too..

Oh! This was the 甜品 we had at the 甜品屋 near their house. There's baked pudding, mango aloe vera stuff, 腐竹撞蛋白,almond milk, mango pancakes and mango mochi! =)

31/12/2006-Day4

This is a scene of 长洲, another idyllic off shore village. =)

Another nice picture taken by me!!X)

长洲's other side..

More pretty pictures of 长洲...

This was the seafood lunch we had there, I think we ordered clsoe to 11 dishes, with refillable soup and tea and it only cost $8 (Singapore) per person... X)

Saw this 红楼 restaurant opposite Times Square and decided to take a picture..
Actually we celebrated the New Year at home cos it was way too crowded outside and no one felt like going out..

1/1/2007-Day5

Yinshan's grandparents gave us a lunch treat at a Hakka restaurant.. Really ate a lot of good food while I was there.. =X

This was a protest I saw in HK, the people there were dressed in all sorts of costumes with big banners and policemen guiding the protest group.. It was an eye opener I guess, considering this will probably never happen locally..

Heh, this was a piece of (uncovered) meat we saw walking around the street promoting beef at some restaurant.

Went to watch 伤城 at night and saw this cute Mumble toy! Sooooooo cute and squishy... X)

伤城 is a very good show and I'm quite glad I watched the cantonese version actually. The dubbed and voiced over version probably wouldn't have been as compelling.

2/1/2007-Day6

More yumcha on the last day...

A photo taken of the group at the table. Actually we split up o nthe last day since some people wanted to go shopping and others (like my cousin who came later and didn't get to yumcha) wanted to yumcha.
So that's a general idea of what my week in HK was like. =)
