Sunday, December 11, 2005Left with 4 days to the end of my attachment, and I finally see some meaning. Today after leaving the mortuary, I went for the first time to the red light district with another reporter and the photographer and the driver. Then I guess I saw a side of Singapore I would probably not ever know. It's just interesting I guess, cos normally you wouldn't go there and explore, unless you know some really good food stall somewhere. And after that we went to follow up on a case regarding a vietnam bride. Then I realised I don't think I would ever have the nerve to be a reporter. First I'd be much too affected by whatever happened to the people involved. After listening to the poor vietnam bride's tale, I felt that the guy was despicable. And promises of never again and what not are totally not to be trusted. The past 4 weeks, and I've found experience in 1 day. Maybe it isn't such a waste of time after all. Not. |
