Saturday, February 19, 2005I think that I am one of the most accident prone people in daoju. When daoju first started, I accumulated a lot of orh chehs (with the help of orientation), then for a rather long period of a month or so I was accident free, besides the usual knocking into people or getting paint on myself, which is a daily occurence. However within the last 3 days, I've managed to get a splinter in my thumb (from trying to file/smoothen the edges of the new wooden crate), stab same above mentioned thumb with a needle (while trying to sew the black covers onto the swivel chairs) and whack my knuckle against the railing simply by running and not looking at where my hand was going... Oh well, I'm going to look back someday on this, and start missing huang cheng like crazy, even the accidents. On a brighter note, they threw away the stinky black mouldy paint on Saturday! =D No more icky smells when repainting black stuff, or having to deal with lumps and clumps of unidentified black substances coagulating at the bottom of the bucket. And yesterday's lian pai was quite fun, or rather I think it was much better than the one at the auditorium, simply because we could see better. Which isn't realistic, since VT is going to be much darker, and all you can base your cues on would be the actors/actresses dialogue. >< Oh well, must jia you! Dao ju rocks! (In case any of you didn't know that already) The guys were lugging the stairs, platforms and all the assorted massive props up to the hall, while we were moving everything else. We used to think that the see saw was bad, but things just seem to get bigger and heavier... But we're all made up of really cool people, so we move things all the same. Then was the actual rehearsals, which were quite sian, since we were standing most of the time, waiting for cues and trying not to talk/whisper/stand on/run over/across/into boom boxes/curtains/cage etc. I was feeling really tired yesterday, so I think I slept during one of the jus where I had no scene changes. Then they had debriefing, and the guy in charge wanted to split by jus, so daoju ppl in charge of the first ju go somewhere, second ju go somewhere else etc. But the thing is that most daoju people are involved in either 2 or all 3 jus (like me!) so we had to practise fen shen shu. Actually not really, since we were supposed to go around one ju at a time, but the teacher just gathered all of us into another group and talked to us as a whole. Then she was talking about how the actors and actresses must feel safe on the daoju, so must let them qc and hop around etc on the stairs and such. By then you could hear the gasps and other assorted xin tong noises the guys were making. And the very loud HARH? when she said that the platform had to be repainted which they misheard as remade... Oh yar oh yar! But before that, we were rehearsing xie mu, and daoju got praised! -beams- The guys were very funny, since they did the whiny noise thing complete with actions, and the girls were acting cute... Then we sang hua chu de ge a few times, and we actually got it with the music! Whee! I think I was relatively hyper by that time, probably cos of amelia, so we were complying with what they said and grinning during hua chu de ge, and jumping up really high and stuff. Of course it helped too to see old seniors coming back and doing hua chu de ge so enthusiastically at the back... Feels like one nice big happy family now, and it was really nice of all the other zus to help us move daojus back, even though they probably wanted to go home earlier as well and for that to happen, the daojus had to be cleared... =) Then the guys were quite gentlemenly too! Helped us with all the bulky stuff like the fridge, see saw, platforms etc. Then after that we went back to the daoju room and engaged in a very lame ostra game. Essentially the point is not to get ostracised, but if you are, you're supposed to get other people to join you as well. It's something like Heart Attack, in that you're supposed to get 4 of the same cards, then put your finger on your nose. If you're the last one to do that, you're a Level 1 pig, then all the other humans are supposed to ostracise you. If they talk to you, then they join your ranks as a level one pig. The game continues, whereby the first person to become a level 7 pig is the loser. Pigs can upgrade levels as long as they are still the last ones to put their fingers on their noses. Really quite funny... We had 3 or 4 level one pigs by the end and 2 level two pigs I think. We lamed quite a lot, and the pigs were trying to get other people to talk to them... XD Then when the laoshi came in, he saw us playing with cards, then kj was saying that we were only yan jiuing the deck... Okay lahz, it was a relatively effective bonding session. I'm glad to say I'm enjoying huang cheng more and more, although it's come at the expense of my sleep and certain amounts of my sanity. It feels good to belong to something or be part of some group, a lot of gui shu gan. =) Which reminds me, I should avoid surfing mugger j1s blogs or j1s blogs in general, it's depressing cos of what they think/say/feel about the release of the o level results. I'm a self confessed escapist, and I want to be an ostrich about it. So if I don't see it, it doesn't see me. That is, until the date for release is confirmed, then I'll have nowhere to escape, since everyone will be talking about it in school. Then I'll get mopey, moody and depressed until I get my results and then... Stuff happens. But in the meantime, I shall not think about it. Not in the right frame of mind to do so anyway. |
