Shall squish two days of orientation narrations in one post, since both nights I was very tired and gave up trying to blog after unpacking + washing (starched/painted) clothes + bathing.

Orientation Day 4

Actually I can't remember the sequence of events, so shall just anyhow narrate. We had amazing race from the hall in the morning, and successfully finished it as the 18th ct. We got stuck halfway at the "Eye to eye with HC and Singapore clue", but once we located the councillor, we finished the task in record time and quickly sped off to the other locations. Essentially we've been running around a lot for the past two days of orientation, so by the time we got back to the hall, we were terribly worn out, and thankfully they brought lunch forward, since apparently a lot of group members were starved. The tchs guys brought the ct to SMU where the food is quite cheap and in huge portions, but the service is damn slow... So we were late to return to school after that, and even then, two people didn't get to eat lunch, since they took away the food, but had to time to eat it at school anyway till dinner.

I think we were erm late for about 15 minutes plus, but thankfully we didn't miss much of the faculty session outside the audi (lesser distance to run from smu). And our faculty rocks!!! APOLLO ROCKS! Our fac dance is very cool, and it's to Destiny Child's Lose My Breath. The guy dances very well!!! Haha, and due to a certain lack of guys in the class (not like anyone was doing guy girl pairings in class except for...), I learnt the guy's part and partnered bern. And thankfully there was not much turning to do, so I sort of got it... Just that I occasionally mix up my left and right feet etc. Then we had another song session, where thankfully we knew at least two of the songs (xi shui chang liu and dang ni gu dan), so just sing along lohz. And I finally knew why ger smsed me last year during song session too, a lot of memories attached to the songs, especially because of the juniors, and you start missing your secondary school, co and a lot of things all over again. =( I should be going back next week since next week's lessons are quite slack. (2 days with 40 min lessons, 2 days with 1hr 20 min lessons and 1 day with no lessons (but I have to come back for first aid talk anyway).

The station games were quite sian actually, since we had to wait and wait for very long before we got to play at any station, and there was starchy twister, in the middle of the field. It's quite icky, since not only was there starch, but little bits of leaves, bark and small insects that had some how or another gotten stuck in the starch. The insects were erm very much alive and every now and then smothered with starch... Quite gross lahz, but we managed to wash off some of it with the tap behind the council room. Then we walked to the bball courts to wait to play some game with water bombs and stuff. I volunteered to be a tree, so that I would hopefully be whacked with water (the weather was bloody hot lahz) but all I got was water on my legs. Plus the ct that we played with was damn niao lahz... Whatever lohz, plus there was this very annoying guy standing right in front of me as well. If there wasn't a limited number of water bombs, I would have liked to hit him.

We stayed back to do flag and campfire item, so I helped do stuff like taping, white washing etc, but after a while like there were a lot of people and not enough things to do, so some of the flag/banner people went over to help/watch the campfire programme people. I must say that out of all the plays we saw, our ct's was the most lame. Really really cannot stand it lohz, sooooo qian bian! But very funny at the same time too. Plus most of the people were chao ji sporting, especially the main characters like the couple (zai zai + chang e), sianzilla (also the person who provided most of the lame ideas), the reporter, the tree and the narrators. Basically by about 10 plus minutes after I reached there I was laughing so hard I had tears... It was seriously lame, slapstick and whatever. XD

By the time we got back, the banner was more or less done, so I helped pull out the tape and stoned a while, since htere was nothing to do. Then the seniors very nicely helped us buy dinner and glitter to stick on the flag, and so we finished it within a night, with time to rehearse a bit more for the campfire item. I reached home at about 10 plus and slept at about 12 plus with this nagging feeling that I hadn't done something yet. <-student registration form

Orientation day 5

Today is supposedly the most fun day of all the orientation days because of the war games, went for fac meeting to strategise and stuff but I left with other people to ban water bombs. Apparently weiwen, our fac head was very amusing... (copied from

Weiwen: Okay... I heard that Athena and Artemis are forming an alliance to attack Ares then us. Do you want to form an alliance with Ares?
Someone in audience: No!
Weiwen: No? You want to rape everybody? ALRIGHT, that's the spirit! Let's just go and rape rape rape!

Oh my... So that was how the "Rape red" chant came about right before the games. So the three facs ganged up on Ares in the end. Ares is just too big lahz, and they went into Athena territory pre-game and squished most of their water bombs, resulting in the rest of the faculties having to contribute to Athena's store of water bombs. =( I managed to remain very clean, which I guess was why I didn't find it very fun, since I was trying to replenish the depleting supply of water bombs in the toilet. And when you get starched for being clean by the councillors, it's not as fun as getting it when you're trying to attack someone or something like that. And in the end everyone had 0 bombs in their bags lahz, so it was quite rubbish, and Artemis won in the end because of fairness, which is quite sad, since Artemis people were ganging up 6 on 1 Ares guy, and essentially I think they chose the fac that got scolded the least. 'Cos apparently all the other faculties were scolded by the teacher/s or something like that. And I got lots of sandfly bites or some weird insect bites from that too.

Then we thought we had a lot of time to prepare for item, bathe and eat. But we didn't since after eating, we only had like 10 minutes left to prepare for item and present it to the rest of the fac. I now officially dislike the audio system thingy in the lt. It responds bloody slowly, and halfway the screen disappeared, so I couldn't see the timings of the tracks at all! Then when you pressed stop, it took a while for it to respond and all. The guy who was teaching me how to use it commented that he hated the machine and I agreed with him after it screwed up. But never mind, the skit went on as planned, more or less, and jk was talent spotted for huang cheng. He pro lohz, other people zhu dong go and audition, he got jioed by seniors to go. We didn't get chosen to represent the fac, which was okay, since I think the other ct was funny too, especially the bimbo! She sounded so natural, and the jokes were quite lame too.

Nerd (to girl): You must be a Beta particle... Because you're BETA(Better) than all the rest...

Poser (to girl): Your dad must be a terrorist, 'cos you're the bomb!

And the one about the date and raisin... Sooooo lame, but funny at the same time, especially because of the bimbo.

The campfire was quite nice, well the skits and performances were, but the flag presentations were sian. And it drizzled halfway, so they made us go to the hall, where Apollo's skit had further technical problems, but we were entertained by the councillor's impromptu game of making each fac send up representatives to act as a jealous wife, psycho butcher, bimbo milkmaid and mad cow. But anyway, Apollo rocks! We were like the guaiest fac? Haha, or at least that's what one councillor said.

Then erm the campfire was damn chio lahz, all the fac heads dressed up in their god like gear, then lit the balls of paper or something, and sent them flying down to light up the main fire. But that wasn't the nicest part of the fire. When they lit up the names of each of the four facs and the supernova in the middle, that was the chioest. And Apollo burned the brightest! It was the nicest looking one lohz, then we did songs and dances. At first we were in one circle at the front, then molly came looking for us and brought us to find our senior class somewhere at the back, where we sang with them and attempted to follow the dance movements. I utterly screwed up the dance again, since I was trying to do the guy's part, without having even gotten the girl's part proper yet. But never mind, we had fun I guess.

After campfire we were herded out of the school and went to Bukit Timah Plaza with the seniors for bonding session or something. But because there weren't enough chairs/tables at the same place, we were segregated again, and the guys and girls sat at different tables, except for a certain couple... That resulted in the guys table having the lone girl there.

But I guess everyone got rather high after campfire, and by the time I went home, even though I wanted to blog, I couldn't. I fell asleep in front of the computer and woke up a while later to a lot of blue blinking on my screen, filled with people telling me not to dao...

Next week's lessons are slack, but I think I'll miss orientation anyway, and after now I'm even more worried because I want to stay in at HC, I like it here. =)
