Wednesday, January 05, 2005Oooh! Orientation day 3 rocked! No more boring academic stuff, all games and hc spirit stuff... We got split up into our cts (civics tutorial groups aka classes) today, and I realised that I had kind of no one to stick to... GEP really shelters and protects, but yet everyone inside is still a minority, so weird. I'm kind of glad that I had no one there in some ways, and obviously not in others. Firstly 'cos then I'm forced to talk to other people, and henceforth find new friends. But on the other hand when you see everyone else have someone to talk to (people are lonely creatures) and you're kind of the only one alone, it's a bit sad, and hard whilst other friends in other classes have each other and stuff. Oh well, get used to it I guess. We met our senior class today, and molly rocks! Or rather he's damn cute lahz, so gay! XD It's very funny watching him with yiwen(?) where they niao each other, cos he's in lep and she's in physics. Dunno lahz, but our senior class is very nice, ordered pizza for our lunch... We had to pay in the end lahz, but it's kind of nice anyway, rather than having to queue up for canteen food and everyone stone to death while waiting. My class is quite cool, in fact it's SUPER ZAI! And rocks!!!! There are like 21 girls and erm 5 guys? Haha, and we have 3 councillors, so it's quite easy to coordinate and be enthusiastic about things when people are so passionate about it. There's the sort of loud and cute one, an artistic (jappy anime) person, the quiet/maybe mugger group and the henceforth famous class couple. =) SoooOOOOOOOOooOOOOOooo obvious to spot, and michelle (dunmanian) even pointed them out to our senior class when she was asked (in truth or dare) to predict if there were going to be any class couples. (Which is kind of near impossible since there are like -mumblemumbledots-) But anyway, sans the dance session, where I once again saboed my partner with my awful sense of direction and turning, we settled the banner/flag stuff, got a new ct rep, whom shall henceforth be known as jenny! Then we met seniors, did self intro, found my new mortal and erm shall write probably next week or something. =X Then we played truth or dare, or rather the seniors gave questions and the junior that was pointed out by the bottle would answer it. We had them asking who was the chioest councillor, shuaiest councillor, most eligable bachelor (senior), most chio senior, most san ba senior, cutest guy in class, possibility of class couples, most bu shuang school etc. I think that's about all, but I could be wrong... From this orientation, I have confirmed that I am not cut out for dancing, because I have this strange tendency to turn in the wrong direction, or use the wrong limb, or go too slowly... ANyway, we had telematch today, and it was quite an injury filled one, but the class sort of bonded ba... Never had such an enthusiastic orientation before. It's really a choice of your own to make it fun or not... But then again, it was like maf all over again, on a much grander scale. We first got lost trying to find out first station which was actually in the field... The objective was to try and get as many people as possible under the benches or tables into the ring (formed by benches/tables) and stay there, without getting your balloon burst. But we erm lost that, since our ct kind of si wen (5 guys only lehz...). So I conclude that having more (bigger sized or otherwise) guys in your groups probably means you stand a higher chance of winning, since they play rough. Our cheers at this time were quite lan, but never mind, we kind of heck cared 70 and went on to the next game. But by then we were already starched and so we trudged off to the next station of obstacle course. Obstacle course was where we sustained most of our injuries. The game started with the entire ct in a row, where everyone had to roll over everyone else, then pairs would wheelbarrow each other to the end, going around a point on the ground, then blowing a ping pong ball out of a bowl of flour. After that, we were supposed to play scissors paper stone with someone of the opposing team, whereby two benches were placed lengthwise, end to end, and each one would attempt to go through the entire bench, and exit through the opponent's end after winning the scissors paper stone match. Actually quite hard to explain like that. But anyway, I got two bruises, and my toenail got ripped off, and I didn't even go to the starch pool! XP THankfully there was no blood, not like mingtse's and jenny's (jen yi's). Then we erm went to play the volleyball sort of game, resembling the one we played at lifeskills camp 04, except with balloons instead of proper balls and garbage bags in place of towels. Quite failure I think, and we lost the official match, but got sympathy points cos we very sportingly wrote out CHERIE'S name with our butts. Then we ran off to find the next game councillor in charge to realise that we were for once, early. By now our cheer started to sound better, and we were more enthu! Well, maybe it was because the councillor was so nice in giving us mineral water to drink and letting us walk over without doing anything too humiliating. We cheered for him of course, since he let us walk over and stuff. But the game itself was the maf one if I'm not wrong, try and fill up/not fill up your team's bottles. So since we were fantastically early, we went over to play the captain's ball thing at the bball courts, and the other group wasn't around yet! We had sufficient time for toilet + water breaks, and came back to entertain the councillors with songs, cheers, random bum movements from the dance and being targets for water bomb practice. Once again, we walked over, and got points for being enthu and relatively entertaining I guess. I kept trying to pick out the dried starch from my shirt, which was much better than some other people with starch in their hair. And we finally finished the planning for campfire item and banner, which will be painted tomorrow! Meaning tomorrow will be a very very late day, but oh well. It should be fun. =) |
