Monday, January 03, 2005Okay, seriously, the academic talks were bloody boring. (muststopsayingbloody) The academic talks were dull, sleep inducing and overall a bore. We were stuck there from 810 to 1030, then break for 45 min and then stuck there till 115 all the way till 340 for more admin stuff on subject combinations and mini talks by various departments trying to get you into their department using reverse psychology or otherwise... But anyway, about a third ++ of the auditorium was filled with tchs guys,so the rest of the other minority schools filled in the other two thirds of the audi, which is kind of odd. And they had the band in the morning playing some theme song for the teachers to walk on stage to, extremely lame, then the principal made his address, introduced the staff, of whom no one remembered anyway. Then we had talks from NTU and NUS representatives and did lots of academic related stuff... X( sian. But anyway, we had mass dance after that, and they look kind of cute, despite the fact that I was directionally challenged, and I couldn't see the councillors' hands or feet, but I managed to erm continually stare at the councillor behind me and thus sort of follow. It reminded me of mass dance at ny, where I don't see the in between process, and I just get the final pose thing. But more fun. More fun cos there are enthusiastic councillors and it's not the nan zhong quan... XP Oh well, tomorrow there will be less academic stuff and more fun games thingys. =) Looking forward to it, and I'm feeling surprisingly enthusiastic about school, wow. |
