Thursday, December 30, 2004Hmm, it's 30th December 2004. 1 more day till the end of 2004, maybe it's about time I start reminiscing, especially since there's going to be so much that's new in a day's time. What I remember from 2004: January: From what I remember, I was an annoyed, worrisome prat that thought too much about things, especially with regards to co, when things all worked themselves out in the end, more or less anyway. February: Chinese New Year! -The family visit was fun, since all the cousins got around and played (gambled), yakked and the atmostphere was generally happy, upbeat and great. None of that "IT'S O LEVELS THIS YEAR, I'M SO GOING TO DIE" sort of thing. Not yet anyway. I guess I had more of a come what may sort of attitude then, one that I learnt to change fantastically fast once the school term started. -I remember it was the first time I went to yinlaoshi's house, and we were kind of feeling weird, since we couldn't really mess up his house or stuff. I think we ended up in the room staring at his son's pictures, looking at his album and the stuff that was in his cupboard. Oh yeah, we were gossiping a lot too, and talking about stuff in general. Fun times, that was. =) March: -Lifeskills Camp I guess the class kind of bonded during that period of time, well at least my group sort of did. It kind of eased tensions for a while and was even fun? Slacky camp! With good food! But everyone sort of hecked the proper table manners and etiquette after a while. (slightly before the first dish came) We won second for the class dance, and although no one was very enthusiastic at first, we soon all got to know our steps etc. And we even actively participated in the games thingy, what with the towels and all. My class is kind of nice and chummy in that way, that we don't have all the noisy people or all the quiet people, and although we have cliques, but we blend well too! I don't know, sans a few annoying people at certain times, I love this class. Being together for two years makes you get to know people better, enough to have random conversations across the classroom, talk about teachers, share troubles and do random plotting every now and then... =) -First Huanghe prac... I remember feeling extremely happy and excited about the song. First chuida piece ever, gan chu liang duo. =) April: -Mugging for Mid years... Don't even want to think about it already. May: -My birthday and mid years! Sian birthday as usual, I remember buying my own cd, with some contributed fund from a lot of people. =( I miss having black forest cake at my birthday. June: -Piahing for concert... There's so much that happened then that cannot be summed up so simply, so I shall not attempt to. All the effort and hard work we put in may not have been enough to polish up the concert that well, but it's the input and the process that counts. The road that we took there and all those that we overcame along the way. =) And I love all my dear juniors, despite them sometimes being quite odd(hyper/depressed/studious/etc.) and seniors too, and if there is ever another chuida item, I want!!!!!!! XD July: -NYCO concert. I don't think it was a perfect performance, and further reviewing of the concert cd proves me right. But as long as we know we did our best and had fun doing it, plus learned stuff on the way, it's okay. I guess. Pia harder for next year jiu hao le. August: September: October: O level mugging + Prelims... Relatively disappointing prelim results, but still okay to get into hc I guess (since I did make it for the first three months at least) November: O levels <- study like crap, have no life. The when it ends, find out that there's a lot of time, and you basically have no life anyway. =) December: NAC! <- 31 times of zhu ying yao hong XP Dunno ba, I don't really like solo instruments in general, prefer dazu more (have balance...), but anyway, it was quite fun I guess, especially to waste time. Except I have to wake up at like odd early hours in the morning to reach there at 830 for the first competition in the morning. And I got to know cg better too, I guess, since we a lot of stuff together then. =) Got my first sort of paying job checking contact lens boxes... I guess the job was kind of flexible and lax, since we were unsupervised most of the time and there's a lot of responsibility? Plus I kind of realised that it's based on a sort of trust, and the want to provide customers with good products that things like quality control comes about. To us, whilst we're checking, we get so sick of the boxes that we start complaining that no one looks at it anyway, favouring the quality of the product inside more. Yet to the manufacturer or middle men, it's a matter of doing your job with pride (remember ss?) and responsibility. Anyway, spent an entire week (5 days actually), 8 hours each, inspecting and packing boxes. Not exactly the most interesting job in the world, but if you have company, it isn't that bad. And I feel kind of good that I donated about half my salary to the tsunami victims...they do need a lot of help, the damage done is disastrous. And now the new year is here, and I know not what to expect, so I shall not expect anything. Like they say, come what may, and I'll deal with it later... =) |
