Sunday, August 22, 2004Anyway a little something about the concert cd we heard... There's a lot we can improve on, and there are somethings we are good at, so no matter how you judge it, it cannot be entirely black and white. The spirit is there, the atmosphere and passion we have for our music can be felt, the technicalities are not as good, but that can be improved upon with practise. I'd rather you all have spirit and bad skills than have skills and no spirit (NOT that it means you all can don't lian le), for without spirit, the music has no soul, and everything is shallow, artificial and on the surface. It can only be taken to reflect the people within the orchestra as well, which is not true, because everyone in the orchestra has soul, spirit and passion. So bu yao qi nei, you're all improving already, just have to know where to focus, and the juniors are doing well too, their yinse is getting better, so just make sure they practise more and focus as well, then will it be effective. :P But in any case, must have confidence in yourself, as well as the people in your group, I shall be prepared to be pleasantly surprised when I go back to watch huibao end of this year... |
